With GPU prices near the stratosphere, now is a great time to get your PC card flashed to work in your Mac. We WROTE all of the 3rd party rooms for these. Let us make your life easier. If you want a boot screen, now is the time.
We carry very few cards in stock now due to the prices, so are able to get to flash jobs in 1-2 days. We have also expanded to 460 as well as ALL 480 and 580 cards.

Can report that Big Sur works great on the 4,1/5,1. Just need a newer GPU ! WiFi card needs to be updated as well.
Best way to do it is run the install on another machine that supports natively. I have done this using a TB enclosure with PCIE drive.
There are apps to make this easier. But once installed, all that is required is:
sudo nvram boot-args='-no_compat_check'
​This allows normal function. If you do an NVRAM reset, you will need to reapply.

In 10.15.5-10.15.7 you need to apply the 'fix'.
​This is easier on the cards that have a BIOS switch.
Best news is that Apple fixed the conflict for Big Sur. So no fix needed

Our friends in Cupertino have broken support for EFI 5700 in 10.15.5.
Stay on 10.15.4 until we get a fix. If your 5700 has a ROM switch and you are on 10.15.5, you can use the PC side to work around for now.

So, not much needs to be said about this. We are based in LA and have had issues getting some of our supplies in typical time. An exciting new development, MVC has cracked the EFI for 5700XT native support in4,1/5,1 Mac Pros. And while you need 10.15.1 for full video and audio drivers, the good news with the EFI is you still get an image in earlier OSs for basic screen use. Pre-orders start 3/1/20 for cards shipping 3/10/20 or so. (Some shipping issues with Eastern countries). Yep, no more power issues, these cards are 6&8 pin from the factory. So all the benefits of native EFI, easier switching OS's and diagnostics, while also harnessing the power of the latest and greatest from AMD. Win/Win !

We were recently reminded that 4,1 Mac Pros, even with the 5,1 Firmware, can't natively run updates to 10.13. This can result in being stuck at 17G65 or even the dreaded 17G66 (no Nvidia drivers for 17G66)
The fix is simple, and was provided by DosDude, who has made life easier for Mac users running newer OS's.
Scroll to the bottom of the linked page and you'll see some FAQ's. Right above these he has a section called 'Updates'. The little script for download will allow you to use Software Update natively to get latest Security Patches. Simply download the script, open a terminal window and drag the script to it. Hit 'Return' and you'll be asked for your admin password. Once entered, the script will run, and then ask if you'd like to have it check for updates.
At this point you can close the terminal window and Restart. Once booted back up, you'll be able to run the Security and OS updates normally, as Apple intended. The Nvidia driver updates will allow you to get their newer drivers as well.

Not to get TOO technical, but Sapphire recently made some changes that required a new ROM for their cards.
After spending some time on this, we are back up and shipping these cards as new or used. Sorry for delay, we should be caught up with all shipments by Wednesday.
